Our Objectives
To promote the interests and rights of people who use mental health services in the area by:
- Encouraging the involvement of adults who have mental health needs in the improvement, planning, development and implementation of mental health services in the area.
- Providing information, learning and volunteering opportunities for service users.
- Developing a network, linking service user groups, across the area and supporting them to participate in the improvement, planning, development and delivery of mental health services.
- Supporting the setting up of service user groups in areas where they don't exist and linking them into the network.
- Establishing ways in which service users who do not attend at groups can participate in the improvement, planning development and implementation of services.
- Keeping up to date with current mental health issues and research as essential means of targeting the future development of services.
To act as a voice to press for improvements in local mental health services, in ways which reflect the needs and interests of the people who use them by:
- Empowering individual service users and service user groups to participate in all aspects of the improvement planning, development and implementation of services.
- Maintaining contacts with providers of mental health services in order to feed in the views, concerns, hopes and aspirations of service users.
